Tree Paintings
Description
The focus of this series is to highlight the uniqueness and divinity of the trees that exist in our everyday world. Each form in nature is unique and has a distinct form. These paintings represent how nature is a visual manifestation of the divine. Each tree that I have found and photographed is in Van Cortlandt Park. The trees are painted in colors that are not naturalistic and are set in various stages of daylight. Most are singular entities and one is two trees intertwined. The trees each display aspects of human metaphoric characteristics such as places where we are twisted, filled with bumps or knots, flaking off, powerful, or bent in unique and beautiful ways.
